10th Anniversary Celebrations 2012              

This year we celebrate 10 years from the beginning of our journey out into the community to our fully fledged Network.
Throughout the year we will be holding special events to celebrate our achievements and we will be emphasising the importance of the clubs to the people we support by listening to their stories and recording them in various ways.

Launch of New Style Programmes

To kick off the year we are launching our new calendar style programmes which as you can see is full of colour and vibrancy, reflecting the service we offer. We have worked in partnership with our friends at `Inprint Solutions` to re-vamp our look as part of our marketing strategy which will take us through the next few years. The next step is to produce a promotional leaflet which will be used to showcase the service and we will be targeting various individuals and organisations in an effort to sell the service to other older people in the community.

FORTHCOMING EVENTS DIARY DATES

Wednesday 22nd February – This is the day we will be celebrating the 10th Anniversary of our very first club, `Club 65`. We look back on the initial challenges we faced when we attempted our first partnership with the WRVS and were scrubbing the floors in the old Chorley Community Centre! We have certainly come a long way since then. This is where we `cut our teeth` on community work and learned how much work we were going to have to put in to break down the barriers that existed at the time. We will be celebrating our achievements in doing exactly that – breaking down walls and bringing people together, building relationships and long standing friendships and watching individuals’ blossom in the process, and all in the comfortable surroundings of St Mary’s Parish Centre Chorley!!

Wednesday 28th March – 10th Anniversary OPEN DAY – On this day we are going to be holding an open day for the general public and all our partners and supporters. In the morning we will be displaying photos and stories from over the years and looking at how our journey has progressed over the past 10 years. After lunch we will be hosting the 50+ Theatre group; another way of celebrating what people can achieve in retirement. Please come along and join us for this very special event.

Thursday 17th May – 10th Anniversary Ball – This special evening event will also be a fundraiser for Network 50+, an evening of glitz and glamour and another opportunity to bring together all of the people that matter to us.

So as you can see this year will be another busy one for us, with lots to look forward to and much to hope for.
